81. At-Takwirالتكوير

The Overthrowing · Meccan · 29 ayahs · 1 rukus · Saheeh International (English)

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

  1. 81:1

    اِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ۪ۙ﴿1﴾

    When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]
  2. 81:2

    وَ اِذَا النُّجُوْمُ انْكَدَرَتْ۪ۙ﴿2﴾

    And when the stars fall, dispersing,
  3. 81:3

    وَ اِذَا الْجِبَالُ سُیِّرَتْ۪ۙ﴿3﴾

    And when the mountains are removed
  4. 81:4

    وَ اِذَا الْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ۪ۙ﴿4﴾

    And when full-term she-camels are neglected
  5. 81:5

    وَ اِذَا الْوُحُوْشُ حُشِرَتْ۪ۙ﴿5﴾

    And when the wild beasts are gathered
  6. 81:6

    وَ اِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ۪ۙ﴿6﴾

    And when the seas are filled with flame
  7. 81:7

    وَ اِذَا النُّفُوْسُ زُوِّجَتْ۪ۙ﴿7﴾

    And when the souls are paired
  8. 81:8

    وَ اِذَا الْمَوْءٗدَةُ سُئِلَتْ۪ۙ﴿8﴾

    And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked
  9. 81:9

    بِاَیِّ ذَنْۢبٍ قُتِلَتْۚ﴿9﴾

    For what sin she was killed
  10. 81:10

    وَ اِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ۪ۙ﴿10﴾

    And when the pages are made public
  11. 81:11

    وَ اِذَا السَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ۪ۙ﴿11﴾

    And when the sky is stripped away
  12. 81:12

    وَ اِذَا الْجَحِیْمُ سُعِّرَتْ۪ۙ﴿12﴾

    And when Hellfire is set ablaze
  13. 81:13

    وَ اِذَا الْجَنَّةُ اُزْلِفَتْ۪ۙ﴿13﴾

    And when Paradise is brought near,
  14. 81:14

    عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّاۤ اَحْضَرَتْؕ﴿14﴾

    A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it].
  15. 81:15

    فَلَاۤ اُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِۙ﴿15﴾

    So I swear by the retreating stars -
  16. 81:16

    الْجَوَارِ الْكُنَّسِۙ﴿16﴾

    Those that run [their courses] and disappear -
  17. 81:17

    وَ الَّیْلِ اِذَا عَسْعَسَۙ﴿17﴾

    And by the night as it closes in
  18. 81:18

    وَ الصُّبْحِ اِذَا تَنَفَّسَۙ﴿18﴾

    And by the dawn when it breathes
  19. 81:19

    اِنَّهٗ لَقَوْلُ رَسُوْلٍ كَرِیْمٍۙ﴿19﴾

    [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger
  20. 81:20

    ذِیْ قُوَّةٍ عِنْدَ ذِی الْعَرْشِ مَكِیْنٍۙ﴿20﴾

    [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position],
  21. 81:21

    مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ اَمِیْنٍؕ﴿21﴾

    Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy.
  22. 81:22

    وَ مَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُوْنٍۚ﴿22﴾

    And your companion is not [at all] mad.
  23. 81:23

    وَ لَقَدْ رَاٰهُ بِالْاُفُقِ الْمُبِیْنِۚ﴿23﴾

    And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon.
  24. 81:24

    وَ مَا هُوَ عَلَى الْغَیْبِ بِضَنِیْنٍۚ﴿24﴾

    And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen.
  25. 81:25

    وَ مَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَیْطٰنٍ رَّجِیْمٍۙ﴿25﴾

    And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens].
  26. 81:26

    فَاَیْنَ تَذْهَبُوْنَؕ﴿26﴾

    So where are you going?
  27. 81:27

    اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعٰلَمِیْنَۙ﴿27﴾

    It is not except a reminder to the worlds
  28. 81:28

    لِمَنْ شَآءَ مِنْكُمْ اَنْ یَّسْتَقِیْمَؕ﴿28﴾

    For whoever wills among you to take a right course.
  29. 81:29

    وَ مَا تَشَآءُوْنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ یَّشَآءَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ۠ع﴿29﴾

    And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds.
