Maarif-ul-Quran (En) - Al-An'aam : 148
سَیَقُوْلُ الَّذِیْنَ اَشْرَكُوْا لَوْ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مَاۤ اَشْرَكْنَا وَ لَاۤ اٰبَآؤُنَا وَ لَا حَرَّمْنَا مِنْ شَیْءٍ١ؕ كَذٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذِیْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ حَتّٰى ذَاقُوْا بَاْسَنَا١ؕ قُلْ هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِّنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوْهُ لَنَا١ؕ اِنْ تَتَّبِعُوْنَ اِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَ اِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا تَخْرُصُوْنَ
Those who associate partners with Allah will say, “ Had Allah willed, we would have not associated (partners with Him), nor our fathers, nor would we have made anything prohibited.” In the same way belied those before them until they tasted Our penalty. Say , “ Have you any knowledge that you may bring forth for us? You follow nothing but whims, and do nothing but make conjectures.
